Abstract

After a fairly long introductory first chapter on the author's 'double-helix' theoretical way of working with both Attachment and Intersubjectvity, the author dives into the nitty-gritty application of working with families, and developing his method of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity & Empathy) - which one would hope that all Family Therapists would be familiar with. There follow chapters on fostering an affective/reflective dialogue, meetings with parents at the onset of treatment, 'being' with children, managing shame, managing breaks and repairing contact, and exploring and releasing childhood trauma. There then follows 3 case studies.
There is warm acclaim from Daniel Siegel and Diana Fosha on the back cover.
