Title: Attachment-Focused Family Therapy
Author: Hughes, Daniel A.
Year: 2007 Publisher: W.W. Norton & Co Inc. City: New York Country: USA
ISBN: 978-0393705263 Type: hardback ISBN pages: 296
After a fairly long introductory first chapter on the author's 'double-helix' theoretical way of working with both Attachment and Intersubjectvity, the author dives into the nitty-gritty application of working with families, and developing his method of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity & Empathy) - which one would hope that all Family Therapists would be familiar with. There follow chapters on fostering an affective/reflective dialogue, meetings with parents at the onset of treatment, 'being' with children, managing shame, managing breaks and repairing contact, and exploring and releasing childhood trauma. There then follows 3 case studies. There is warm acclaim from Daniel Siegel and Diana Fosha on the back cover.
