Article title : A case of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
Author: McIntyre, Jack B.
Year: 1984 Journal: Bioenergetic Analysis Vol : Issue 1 : 1 Pages: 73-82
Presents a case study of bioenergetic work with a man with a definitive diagnosis of ALS. The bioenergetic work was undertaken because the man 'did not wish to simply go to bed and die.' Work included character analysis, confrontation of denial, and most importantly, support of his efforts to live. Describes modifications of the treatment due to the ALS. The ALS has progressed, but much more slowly than is typical. Evaluation: This is a detailed, careful clinical article. Presents a lot of good information regarding verbal and body work with a client like this. The work is described in sufficient detail, and the conclusions are careful and adequately supported.
