Abstract

68 ex-clients of 17 Energy Stream psychotherapists completed questionnaires about their therapy experience. 77% = highly satisfied. Reichian techniques used with >75% of clients, rated as helpful by most clients. Investigates presence of client-centered variables as well. Also reported in West (1994).
Evaluation: 68 ex-clients of 17 Energy Stream psychotherapists completed questionnaires about their therapy experience. 77% = highly satisfied. Reichian techniques used with >75% of clients, rated as helpful by most clients. Investigates presence of client-centered variables as well. Also reported in West (1994). Not an empirical study, but rather a survey. Very useful data on what clients felt actually occurred in sessions, what they felt was helpful, and how they felt about their therapeutic experience overall. In some ways the article in Counseling Quarterly is better than this thesis itself, though the thesis contains some information the article doesn't.
