Those who do not come to terms with their Shadow will tend to be run by it. Once we face the Shadow, it is also the source of tremendous aliveness, spirit, instinctual energy, and deep creativity when integrated in the body. The Shadow includes all those parts of ourselves we would prefer not to reveal to others or even know about. Exercises and techniques were explored to allow the dark side to emerge into the light. The approaches, drawn from Hakomi, included movement, art, poetry, imagery, discussion and contact.
