In these times of stress and trauma, many body-oriented therapists are experiencing additional tensions, feelings of exhaustion and are emotionally drained due to the nature of their profession. Drawing on the Rubenfeld Synergy Method, a body-oriented psychotherapy, Ilana Rubenfeld conducts group exercises, presents individual demonstrations and offers supervision. She will teach specific ways of self-care for dealing with demanding clients, vicarious traumatization, depleting work environments and burn-out. Drawing on her book The Listening Hand, Ilana shares her 'Self-Care Toolbox,' guides participants through a seven-step change process and provides a heightened appreciation of how to use humor to interrupt the suffering trance for yourself and your clients.
